Reynolds American Inc. Named to Newsweek’s America’s Greatest Workplaces 2024 for Diversity

This award recognizes Reynolds’ impact and commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organization.

Winston-Salem, N.C. (April 2, 2024)—Reynolds American Inc. (Reynolds), the BAT Group’s U.S. subsidiary, announced today that Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group have recognized the organization as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity 2024. The scoring process involved publicly available data, interviews with HR professionals, and an anonymous online survey conducted among a diverse group of employees at companies in the U.S. Respondents shared insights into corporate culture, working environments, and other aspects of their own companies and those they were familiar with, resulting in over 1.5 million company reviews.

On the large employer list, Reynolds earned a rating of four-and-a-half stars out of a possible five, underscoring the organization’s commitment to recruiting and advancing individuals of various ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities.

“At Reynolds, diversity and inclusion is a thread that runs through everything we do and how we do it, it isn’t just a box we’re checking or a corporate exercise. We strive to empower our people and foster an exciting, rewarding workplace, emphasizing inclusivity,” said Borgia Walker, Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Inclusion. “To that end, our employee benefits, programs and policies, and talent acquisition and retention efforts support our workforce’s ability to excel professionally and personally and deliver sustainable growth for our organization.”

Globally, across the entire BAT Group and at Reynolds, bold 2025 ambitions have been set to accelerate the pace of progress. Within the U.S., Reynolds has ambitions to achieving gender parity in management roles, 25% minority representation in management roles, and 40% female representation in senior leadership. All employees are made aware of the organization’s progress towards D&I ambitions. Reynolds is also committed to transparency with salary grades across the organization.

This recognition complements Reynolds’ recognition as a Top Employer 2024 in the U.S. and the BAT Group’s continuous certification as a Global Top Employer and notable inclusion in the 2023 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index, which underscores the BAT Group’s commitment to pay equity.
