R.J. Reynolds works closely with its suppliers to develop detailed specifications for the materials that are included in the tobacco products it manufactures. Suppliers are required to disclose all ingredients contained in the materials they provide for inclusion in tobacco products. R.J. Reynolds has processes in place for the review and approval of these ingredients, and for the continued monitoring of ingredient changes.
Quality assurance personnel routinely monitor and inspect incoming materials to ensure that specifications are met. Additionally, cross-functional teams review all aspects of supplier performance on a continuing basis and work closely with suppliers to identify and remediate issues.
