While the RAI operating companies are united in their core values and objectives, programs and approaches in the areas of product integrity and harm reduction differ from company to company. These differences reflect the diversity of strengths, resources, and experience among the operating companies. Each operating company, through appropriate licensing arrangements, service contracts and other transactions, will have access to and the opportunity to use, as appropriate, relevant technologies, resources and “best practices” available within the RAI operating companies.
The most important example of cross-company collaboration is the use of service contracts to leverage the recognized strengths and capabilities of R.J. Reynolds’ research and development department.
