Reynolds American and its operating companies share a longstanding history of community and civic -engagement. The plank team objectives reflect our commitment to sustain and build on this legacy and the diversity of the employees and communities in which we operate.
This commitment to community is reflected in the fact that the companies support three different private foundations, each established years ago, that engage in philanthropic activities on behalf of the companies and their employees. The R.J. Reynolds Foundation, the Conwood Charitable Trust and the Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company Foundation provide more than 75 percent of the annual charitable funding associated with Reynolds American and its operating companies.
The following report highlights the major community and civic engagement activities of the operating companies and their affiliated foundations.

Under the theme “An Island in Your Hands," R.J. Reynolds - Puerto Rico successfully relaunched its charitable spending program in 2007. The program includes $50,000 in RJR Foundation grants to innovative projects in the areas of community development, social well-being, education, environment, recreation and the arts.
As a result, non-profit organization's participation more than doubled, strengthening local awareness on our company's CSR efforts.
