On July 30, Reynolds American announced higher second-quarter and first-half 2008 net income compared with the prior-year periods on both a reported and adjusted basis. Reynolds American’s solid second-quarter performance keeps the company on track to achieve the guidance announced on April 30, delivering full-year 2008 earnings that are consistent with prior-year results.

Lisa J. Caldwell is executive vice president of human resources for Reynolds American Inc. (RAI) and its largest subsidiary, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company (R.J. Reynolds).
Caldwell joined R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in 1991 as manager of employment practices. Between 1993 and 1995, she served as a personnel manager for the company’s manufacturing division and later for its engineering department. She was promoted to director of human resources in 1996.
